Welcome to THE BetterWorld Trust

SCROLL DOWN

Welcome to THE BetterWorld Trust

The BetterWorld Trust is Paul Goldring Garrett's lifelong vision of creating a world in which everyone has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.

Our grant making and social impact investments are primarily focused upon the sectors of Child Development, Health & Environment and Economic Development.

Ultimately, we envision a world in which everyone has a sense of worth, where everyone can be the best they can be. By working together with others, we can truly make this a better world - now and for generations to come.

Our Founder and Chairman

Paul Goldring Garrett is a Southern California native who grew up knowing a gentler, less-crowded California. He is a graduate of UCLA. He has been involved in all facets of real estate and agriculture, including roles as developer, investor, builder, broker, cattle rancher, agribusiness-man and organic farmer.

Paul started BetterWorld when he was 24.  He kept the idea alive and relaunched it with his wife Diane in 2000 as the culmination of his lifelong dream and vision of intentionally creating a better world.

Paul is a true venture philanthropist with broad interests ranging from:  lending vehicles for incentivizing SME’s (small/medium entrepreneurs); foster youth; literacy initiatives throughout Africa; prenatal to third grade (P-3) early care and education initiatives in the US; training of community health workers in Africa; encouraging the development and expansion of renewable energy sources; and, supporting low-cost innovative housing initiatives.

It is Paul Goldring Garrett’s objective to reduce poverty and improve the economic prospects of local economies with small and medium-sized entrepreneurs through concentrated investments of capital, debt, and expertise. He is currently working on developing a mechanism to further this objective called the “Perpetual Bank of Opportunity”, through the BetterWorld Trust and his newest company BetterWorld Ventures.

Paul refers to these concepts as The BetterWorld recipe... "RSP" methodology.

  • "R" stands for "Regenerative." We want our funds and investments to regenerate and return to our 'pool' for recycling into other philanthropic projects.

  • "S" stands for "Sustainable." We want our investment initiatives to survive our exit on their own merits and to stand on their own after we leave.

  • "P" stands for "Profitable." We believe that managing to profitability produces efficiency and discipline.
